Israel Strikes Syrian Airbase Amid Escalating Tensions Over Security Threats Israel attacks Syrian airbase in northwestern Syria, Syrian foreign ministry condemns the attack. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from Israel confirmed in a statement on X that the country has attacked a military airbase in northern Syria. Three people were killed after an explosion at a power plant by the coast. The Syrian Foreign Ministry has condemned the wave of attacks on Abu Duhur airbase in Idlib and accused Israel of being behind them. The US Syria envoy also pointed out Israel, calling it "unnecessary escalation". Netanyahu however writes on his office X account: "Syria broke a deal by allowing Turkey to use a military base near Aleppo.
