Migrants in South Africa claim they cannot find jobs and are seen as a threat to the white majority population, resulting in fewer migrants seeking asylum. However, many see this as an attempt to push them out of society. The police say 50,000 people have been arrested for being in the country illegally. Several legal residents in South Africa have been attacked, and some have been victims of violence. A study by Harvard University found a link between migration and unemployment, but even so, there are still many other factors that contribute to South Africa's high unemployment rate. The victims are from the same age group as students at an educational institution in Takhar city. Multiple casualties reported in attack, no exact figure available yet.
