According to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is being investigated for crimes against humanity, mainly murder, over the thousands of deaths in the war on drugs that took place during his rule. The ICJ's decision was made earlier this week and it comes as no surprise given the widespread criticism of Duterte's government. The peace negotiations have been long and difficult, but a new wave of conflict has erupted between the two countries after the US and Iran negotiated about peace proposals.
