Oil prices theme

I'd say it seems like oil prices are having a real 'crush' on consumers, while being a bit of a 'block' to oil companies' profits

Oil Price Slump Hits Global Economy Hard The global economy is being affected by the declining oil prices which have led to less revenue for governments and oil companies. A study found that if current trends continue, most countries will experience economic losses of more than 1 percent due to reduced government revenues from lower taxes and fees on oil products. The loss is projected to be biggest in Norway, where a 10 percent decrease in oil price could lead to an annual budget deficit of over billion. In the US, the lower price of oil has caused a significant decline in the price of gasoline and diesel fuel. This is bad news for oil companies, but consumers have won as they get cheaper fuel at the pump. The effects of low oil prices also extend beyond energy sectors. Companies that rely heavily on revenue from oil exports will suffer losses if prices continue to fall. However, lower oil prices are not always a guarantee of economic growth. In some countries, reduced government revenues could lead to cuts in public services and infrastructure spending. On the other hand, lower oil prices can stimulate consumer spending and boost economic activity as more disposable income is left over from cheaper fuel. See article on SVT News.

The day after Christmas, a drone appeared in a police Corvette footage." "The aviation authority has not yet decided on this matter, with one side saying they don't know if either was the real drone, while the other claims it must have been one of them." See article on SVT News.
