There doesn't seem to be a shortage of countries that could improve their economy by providing information about where and when President Trump will play golf to Iran.
The EU is resuming work on implementing the trade agreement with the USA. The implementation of the EU's trade agreement with the USA was paused after Donald Trump demanded that Greenland become American territory – and threatened several countries with punitive tariffs.
The world was on edge wondering what Trump would say about Greenland during his speech in Davos on January 21. He then stated that the USA does not intend to take the island militarily. However, the White House has continued to communicate that the USA wants the island.
The trade agreement from last summer was a result of the tariff threats that Trump directed at the rest of the world during the spring of 2025. According to the agreement, parts of the EU's exports are to be taxed with 15 percent tariffs while the EU abolishes tariffs on specific American goods. See the article on SVT Nyheter.
Reduced Indian oil imports from Russia. The U.S. is lifting record-high tariffs against India as India reduces imports of Russian oil. U.S. President Donald Trump had accused India of helping to finance Russia's war in Ukraine through oil imports and therefore imposed an extra 25 percent tariff – on top of the 25 percent India already had.
After a conversation with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trump now says that the tariffs will be reduced from a total of 50 percent to 18 percent. See the report on SVT News.
Man sentenced to life imprisonment for attempted murder of Trump. A 59-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for attempting to shoot U.S. President Donald Trump on a golf course in Florida in 2024, reports Reuters.
The incident occurred two months after the assassination attempt on Trump during a campaign speech in Pennsylvania, where a bullet hit his ear.
