"In a world where the majority of countries do not have sanctions to Russia, it is difficult to completely block the inflow of goods," says Anders Leissner, an expert on international trade.
With Western sanctions against Russia, it was hoped to curb the country's arms industry. But two and a half years later, the Russian war industry is in full swing and the sanctions are being circumvented. "The type of exports that used to take place from the EU and the US have basically ceased, but the size of the transport is constant. It only takes place from other countries," says Anders Leissner.
