EU leaders gathered in Lapland for an informal summit – met Santa Claus. It was a somewhat unusual gathering when Finland hosted a summit in Lapland this weekend. Talks on the security situation in Europe were held by the fireplace. The guests also got to go on a sleigh ride – and meet Santa Claus.
On the agenda were discussions on the security situation in Europe and how to strengthen defence. "Decisions like this must be made before the defense is needed, when times are much more peaceful," Kaja Kallas said at a press conference in connection with the meeting.
