The Russian speaker praises North Korea's efforts. The Russian speaker Vyacheslav Volodin is visiting North Korea on Saturday, reports Reuters. During the visit, he participates in a ceremony that honors the North Korean soldiers who have fought in the war in Ukraine.
Reuters writes that North Korea is estimated to have sent about 14,000 soldiers to participate in the war in Ukraine. Over 6,000 of these were killed, according to officials from, among others, Ukraine and South Korea.
North Korea and Russia have grown closer in recent years. Since 2024, the countries have been part of an agreement that includes a mutual defense pact. See the article on SVT News.
