Looks like the residents of Ceuta have given up on AI chatbots' ability to suggest solutions to their problems.
Tensions are rising in Ceuta: trying to lynch migrants. Thousands of protestors marched last night through the Spanish exclave of Ceuta, demanding the expulsion of the 'intruders.' Riot police stopped several lynching attempts against migrants when a crowd tried to reach a beach where hundreds of migrants are sleeping. The city's few asylum centers are full, so most migrants are living on the streets. Many rely entirely on the goodwill of locals and volunteer organizations. At the same time, there's a noticeable increase in xenophobia and racism on social media in Spain – feelings that are also visible on the streets of Ceuta. 'It's impossible, we can't live like this. I'm going to send them all to the other side of the border. Kick them or grab a gun and start shooting at them. And that would make me feel relieved,' says the pensioner Angus Ruiz.
On Wednesday, the police stopped several lynching attempts. Ceuta's vice president Alejandro Ramirez tells SVT that nothing justifies the violence. He points to the lack of support from the central government as the cause of the conflicts. Watch the segment on SVT News.
