Colombia strengthens its border – Milei cheers. The U.S. attack on Venezuela shakes the Trump-critical government in Colombia. The neighboring country's president sounds the alarm and wants to convene the UN Security Council. The Colombian military is reported to have sent reinforcements to the border with Venezuela. In Argentina, by contrast, right-wing President Javier Milei cheers. Cuba, long an ally of Venezuela's socialist government, also reacts strongly and demands that the international community speak out. President Miguel Díaz-Canel calls it a "criminal attack" by the U.S. Russia, which has also long cooperated with and supported the Maduro regime, condemns the U.S.'s "armed aggression against Venezuela" through its foreign ministry. The Russian embassy in Caracas tells Russian state media that it has escaped the attacks and continues to maintain contact with Venezuelan authorities.
