Draft: The US will monitor a ceasefire in Ukraine. Heads of state and government from around 30 countries are now gathering in Paris to discuss, among other things, security guarantees for Ukraine.
The US will lead the monitoring of a future ceasefire, according to a draft meeting statement.
According to the draft, reported by AFP and Reuters among others, the US will support a multinational force in Ukraine if Russia breaks the ceasefire. The statement also includes binding commitments for Ukraine's allies after the end of the war, specifically in the event of a future armed attack by Russia. "These commitments may include the use of military resources, intelligence services and logistical support, diplomatic initiatives, adoption of additional sanctions," reads the draft according to Reuters.
