Are we going to see a Russian version of the American Powerball lottery where they draw a final digit daily for license plate numbers that get to fuel up the next day?

Fuel rationing in parts of Russia. Authorities in the Russian region of Astrakhan have introduced rationing on vehicle fuels like petrol and diesel, reports the state news agency Tass.

The governor announces that the last digit of a vehicle's registration number will determine whether it can refuel on odd or even dates. This is to reduce the hours-long queues at gas stations that have angered the public in recent weeks.

Russia has also imposed an export ban on petrol and diesel. The reason for the fuel shortage is Ukraine's increasingly intense drone attacks on refineries and depots across Russia. Watch the segment on SVT News.

Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries. Several Russian oil refineries were attacked with Ukrainian long-range missiles on Wednesday, according to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram.

According to the president, among others, oil refineries in the cities of Nizhnekamsk and Saratov were hit. One person has died, according to the region's Russian governor Roman Busargin on Telegram. See the report on SVT News.
