Iran: US must release 24 billion dollars in frozen assets. A deal between the US and Iran depends on the US releasing 24 billion dollars in frozen Iranian assets. This is stated by Mohsen Rezaei, military advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, in an interview with CNN in Tehran.

Rezaei describes the negotiations as stuck as long as Donald Trump does not agree to the demand. – The ball is on Donald Trump's side, says Rezaei.

– It's our money, not America's.

Mohsen Rezaei also warns that a return to fighting would mean the war could spread far beyond the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, to the important Bab al-Mandab Strait that connects the Red Sea with the Indian Ocean.

According to Rezaei, it is also reasonable that Iran in the future could charge a fee to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. See the article on SVT Nyheter.

Netanyahu: We Won't Pull Back Anytime Soon. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday that the country's military will not withdraw from southern Lebanon "anytime soon," reports Haaretz.

At a meeting with the leaders of northern Israeli municipalities, Netanyahu reportedly said that Iran continues to push plans for an invasion of Israeli territory through Hezbollah. "We might reconsider our actions once Hezbollah has been dissolved," Netanyahu said.

He further states that Israel will continue to maintain a "buffer zone" stretching from Ras al-Bayada in Lebanon to Mount Hermon and onwards to Yarmouk in Syrian territory. Watch the segment on SVT Nyheter.
