Trump: USA resumes blockade against Iran. The US is reimposing the blockade on Iran's ports, Donald Trump announces in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. According to the American president, the Strait of Hormuz is open and 'will remain open, with or without Iran.' Only Iranian ships will be affected by the blockade, writes Donald Trump. 'All other countries will have fair access to the strait,' he writes, adding that the US will henceforth be called the 'Guardian of the Strait of Hormuz.'
However, the US will impose a 20 percent tariff on all goods transported through the strait, the president notes, in exchange for taking responsibility for the safety of the ships. See the report on SVT News.
