Taylor Swift supports Kamala Harris. Earlier in August, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump began spreading AI-generated images of Taylor Swift and her fans who allegedly showed support for the Trump campaign.
In her post on Instagram, Swift now writes that she recently became aware of this and that it evoked fear around AI and the dangers of spreading false information. "It made me conclude that as a voter, I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election. The easiest way to combat misinformation is with truth."
Finally, Swift writes: "With love and hope, Taylor Swift, childless cat" – which is a jab at Donald Trump's partner JD Vance, who in a criticized clip from 2021 attacked childless women. In the clip, he said that the United States is ruled by a group of childless "cat ladies" with miserable lives, who want the rest of the United States to have a bad time. He was referring to Kamala Harris, who herself has no biological children. Along with the post on Instagram, Swift posted a picture of herself with her cat Benjamin Button.
