The peace talks between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul have concluded – without significant progress. The expectations for the first conversation between Russia and Ukraine in three years were low. This came after both Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin decided to cancel their participation. Despite the meeting being postponed, the parties eventually met at the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul on Friday around 1 PM.Many had hoped that the meeting would last the rest of the day, but after two hours, it ended.Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan writes on X that both parties have agreed to present their demands for a ceasefire in separate documents. However, it is uncertain if and when the parties will resume negotiations.
