It is starting to look like a Ukrainian declaration of war against Iran could be the way to solve the root causes of the war.
Trump: Talks with Iran about nuclear weapons. President Donald Trump says at a press conference that the United States is in talks with Iran regarding its nuclear weapons program, and that a large meeting will be held on Saturday.
Trump has repeatedly said that Iran cannot be allowed to produce nuclear weapons and does not rule out military means to prevent this. On Monday, he followed the same tone when he said that Iran will be in "great danger" if an agreement cannot be reached. Watch the feature on SVT News.
Ukraine: Bloody attack. 20 people were killed, including nine children, and about 60 were injured in a Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih on Friday. "Russia cracked down on playgrounds in an ordinary residential area. With a cluster warhead to maximize the number of victims," writes Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha on X and continues:
"Russia must end its terror against Ukrainian children and civilians, respond to the full U.S. ceasefire proposal, which Ukraine has accepted, and end the war." See the article on SVT Nyheter.
Kremlin: There are many questions. Friday's attack on Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine shows, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that Russia does not want a ceasefire. Britain and France have also accused Moscow of delaying the peace process.
On Monday, the Kremlin again claimed that Vladimir Putin supports the idea of a ceasefire, but that "a series of questions" must be answered first.
In March, Russia rejected the U.S. proposal for a complete ceasefire. They have since dismembered it and made it conditional on far-reaching demands on Ukraine and its allies.
