New draft proposes $300 billion a year. Rich countries are proposed to pay at least $300 billion a year to poor countries in climate aid until 2035, according to a new draft in Baku, reports the news agency Reuters.
The news agency has reported that the EU, the United States and other rich countries would support the goal of 300 billion in an attempt to break the summit's deadlock. Poor countries leave the room in protest. The poorest countries have left ongoing negotiations in protest against the rich world offering $250 billion in climate money per year instead of $1300 billion, as the developing countries have demanded. "What is happening is an escape from responsibility, led by the United States," says Mohammed Adow.
