Increased political tension. In a post on Truth Social, the president made demands of all Democratic governors and mayors in the country, including in Minneapolis and Minnesota. Among other things, leaders are urged to hand over all "criminal illegal immigrants" in state prisons and jails to federal authorities and to "cooperate" with the government.
On Sunday, over a thousand people gathered in downtown Minneapolis for a demonstration against the immigration police, ICE.
