Knife attack in Germany – two dead. A man and a child have been killed in a knife attack in Aschaffenburg, Germany. The killed man is said to have been a passer-by who tried to interrupt the attack, which according to German media reports was aimed at a preschool group. Two more people have been taken to hospital and are being treated for serious injuries. The police state that a man was arrested near the crime scene. In a post on X, the police write that the arrested person should be in his 30s with Afghan citizenship. According to reports in German media, the man has previously been rejected in an asylum case, and he is said to have been served with a deportation decision from the country.
