Over 6,000 dead in the earthquakes in Venezuela. It was at the end of June when two strong earthquakes occurred less than a minute apart in Venezuela. Jorge Rodriguez, brother of the acting president Delcy Rodriguez and speaker of parliament, announces on Telegram that 6,125 people have now been confirmed dead. Almost 61,000 people have received hospital care. Barely one-sixth of all the debris has been cleared so far.
The government has been criticized for the aid efforts arriving too late. Thousands of people are still missing, and the death toll could rise further. Watch the report on SVT News.
