Six hostages found dead in Gaza. Six people from the hostages that Hamas took on October 7 have been found dead in a tunnel in Gaza.

The news that bodies in Gaza had been found came already on Saturday evening, but was not confirmed until Sunday morning.

U.S. President Joe Biden writes in a statement that Israeli soldiers recovered six bodies from Hamas hostages "in a tunnel under the city of Rafah." He also writes that one of the six was an American citizen. Watch the feature on SVT News.

 

 

 

General strike in Israel to put pressure on the government. Israel's largest trade union, the Histadrut, has called a general strike on Monday, its boss Arnon Bar-David announces, the Times of Israel reports. Israel's prime minister has threatened to avenge the six hostages who were found dead.

Yair Lapid, leader of the Israeli opposition party Yesh Atid, calls for a strike. According to Reuters, he wants to shut down the Israeli economy in order to pressure the government to reach an agreement to release the remaining hostages.
