Israel dismisses commanders. The Israeli military IDF has fired the commander responsible for the killing of 15 rescue workers in Gaza on March 23, writes the Times of Israel.
The commander is blamed, among other things, for his "incomplete and inaccurate" report of the incident during an initial investigation, the military said.
In the attack, 15 Palestinian health and rescue workers were killed when their vehicles were fired on in southern Gaza.
It was not until a week later that the bodies could be taken care of. According to the UN agency OCHA, they were buried in mass graves in sand. See the article on SVT Nyheter.
Officer Removed: Was responsible when 15 rescue workers were killed. It was on March 23 that Israeli forces opened fire on a convoy of ambulances and emergency vehicles in southern Gaza, killing aid workers. They were later found in a mass grave where one of them had his mobile phone on him.
The video from the phone shows that it was clearly visible that the group were aid workers – which did not match Israel's version of events. Watch the feature on SVT News.
