USA: Iran sanctions against Chinese oil refinery. The US is imposing sanctions on a major oil refinery in China as well as about 40 shipping companies and tankers involved in transporting Iranian oil, reports AP.
The Hengli Petrochemicals refinery in the port city of Dalian in northeastern China has a capacity of approximately 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day, making it one of the largest independent refineries in China. The sanctions punish anyone doing business with the companies in question and are announced just a few weeks before the planned meeting between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in China. The response from the ayatollah: Will become even stronger. Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei writes on social media that 'the enemy's media operations' are trying to undermine Iranian unity, reports Reuters. This comes after President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that Iran 'is having a very hard time figuring out who their real leader actually is.'
'The unity will become stronger and more stable, and the enemy will become weaker and more humiliated,' writes Mojtaba Khamenei on X, according to Reuters.
Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in attacks on the first day of the war and has not appeared publicly since he was elected the country's new leader on March 8. Watch the segment on SVT Nyheter.
