Could the countries conceivably spend some money on the common external border now that it looks like they will have to start spending a penny on defense?
A car has crashed into a crowd at a Christmas market in Germany – up to 80 injured. The attack occurred just after 7 p.m. in the evening. Eyewitnesses say that a car drove straight into the crowd in the direction of the city hall and that people ran away in panic.
A witness who owns a food stall at the Christmas market describes the situation at the site as "warlike". The suspect is a man from Saudi Arabia, according to Saxony-Anhalt's Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff.
In 2016, on December 19, a terrorist attack took place at the Breitscheidplatz Christmas market in Berlin. 48 people were injured and 12 were killed when Anis Mari drove into a crowd with a truck. The 24-year-old was then shot dead in Milan when he opened fire on police officers. Anis Mari had sworn allegiance to ISIS. Watch the feature on SVT News.
Trump's NATO demands: Five percent on defense. US President-elect Donald Trump will demand that NATO member states spend five percent of GDP on defense, reports the Financial Times.
