Massive protests in France. Thousands of people demonstrated in France on Saturday to show their displeasure with President Emmanuel Macron's decision to appoint Michel Barnier as the new prime minister.
Demonstrations were held in 150 locations around the country, following calls from the left. The far-left leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who represents the alliance NFP that came out on top in the election, has said that "the election has been stolen".
The polling institute Elabe also published a poll on Friday showing that 74 percent of French people thought that Macron had disregarded the election results. 55 percent of respondents thought that Macron had stolen the election, writes Reuters.
