It does not look like it will be a problem for the Georgian protesters to find a friend in the upcoming US presidential administration.

 

 

Protesters in Georgia. During the night towards Sunday, several thousand demonstrators gathered outside the parliament in Georgia's capital Tbilisi. Protesters fired fireworks and threw stones. In parliament, a small fire broke out, at the same time barricades were erected on the main street in Tbilisi. The riot police responded with water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets.

When Georgia went to the polls at the end of October, the pro-Russian party Georgian Dream declared itself the winner. But from the opposition came accusations of election fraud.
