Which Israeli politician will be the first to ask whether Elon Musk's new ministry could take a look at the UN organization as well.
That's the idea behind Elon Musk's new department. Elon Musk has been assigned the role of leading what is called an efficiency department, along with businessman Vivek Ramaswamy. The aim is to streamline and reduce costs and to remove regulations for the federal authorities. Elon Musk himself has said that he can reduce government spending by a third.
"The last time Trump was president, he wanted to implement a lot of cuts. He tried to get rid of tens of thousands of non-political officials who Trump considers to be part of what he calls the deep state," says Ginna Lindberg, US correspondent for Swedish Radio. Watch the feature on SVT News.
UN Committee: Israel's warfare resembles genocide. Israel's methods of war in Gaza are in line with what counts as genocide, according to a UN committee that investigates Israel's actions in the war and developments in Gaza, among other places.
Large numbers of civilian casualties have been claimed and life-threatening conditions have been deliberately inflicted on Palestinians in Gaza, the committee writes in a press release. "Israel is deliberately causing death, starvation and serious harm by using starvation as a method of war and exercising collective punishment against the Palestinian population," the press release reads.
