Rutte: A stronger NATO should be created. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte holds a press conference at the alliance's headquarters in Brussels, ahead of NATO's foreign ministers' meeting in Helsingborg on May 21-22. Rutte begins by stating that much has changed in recent years and that the situation has become more dangerous, especially with the Russian aggression and war of attack in Ukraine. – The question is no longer whether we have to do more, but how quickly we can do it, says Mark Rutte.

The meeting in Helsingborg will have a broad agenda, but a major focus will be on the War in Ukraine – and Europe's security. Accelerating the defense industry is a main topic. Watch the segment on SVT News.

EU agrees on US tariffs. The European Parliament and the EU member states have agreed to implement the tariff agreement with the US. – The basis of the agreement with the US itself is that Europe introduces zero tariffs on American goods that come here. The US agrees to implement a cap of 15 percent on goods sent to the US, says SVT's Europe correspondent Niklas Svensson.

US President Donald Trump has expressed that his patience is beginning to run out and gave the EU until July 4 to approve the agreement – otherwise higher tariffs awaited. See the report on SVT Nyheter.
