Explosion at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo. In the night leading up to Sunday, an explosion occurred at the American embassy in Oslo.
The explosion around 1 a.m. was probably caused by some type of explosive device, says Frode Larsen, head of the Investigation and Intelligence Unit at the Oslo Police, to NRK after a press conference on Sunday afternoon. – We have found a lot of material there that we will now analyze, Larsen tells the channel.
The police are searching for one or more suspects and have used drones, K9 units, and a helicopter in the pursuit. By Sunday afternoon, no suspects had yet been arrested. Watch the report on SVT News.
The USA warns American citizens. The USA has issued a security advisory to American citizens to be cautious. This follows last night's explosion at the embassy in Oslo.
Americans should "maintain good personal security" and are advised, among other things, to keep a low profile, avoid crowds and demonstrations, and be cautious near embassies.
