Netanyahu accuses Iran of drones against his residence. On Saturday morning, drones were fired at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private summer residence. Two drones were shot down, but one drone struck in Caesarea, between Tel Aviv and Haifa, where the residence is located. Netanyahu accuses Iranian agents of being behind the attack. Massive power outage in Cuba. Cuba's power grid was shut down on Friday after one of the island's largest power plants failed, according to the country's energy ministry. 54 plants that distribute electricity are said to be out of operation due to fuel shortages.
In a televised speech, Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz said that large parts of the country's production have now been halted to avoid a nationwide power outage, CNN reports. "We have paralyzed economic activity to generate power for the population," he said.
The government blames the crisis on the U.S. trade embargo, which makes it difficult to import fuel and spare parts for the old power plants. The situation reportedly worsened in 2022 when a fuel reservoir in Matanzas, located in the west of the island, caught fire and 40 percent of the country's vital fuel stores were destroyed.
