Is the Russian state television putting together news stories about how the Georgian government has managed to put a stop to the oppositions leader attempt to sit in a bunker, trim out a toothbrush mustache and hold meetings via satellite link with the Western leaders' base on the far side of the moon?

 

 

Opposition leader in Georgia arrested and beaten. A video posted on X shows an unconscious man being dragged down a flight of stairs and out to a car. According to the post, the man is Nika Gvaramia, leader of the opposition party Coalition 4 Change and journalist and founder of the television company Mtavari Channel. Other pictures on Georgian media show how other members of the party are dragged away by police during the same raid.

Georgia has been rocked by widespread and violent protests since Friday, when the new ruling Georgian Dream party announced that negotiations on EU membership are suspended. Watch the feature on SVT News.

 

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte: Russia's war in Ukraine is a threat to us all. This week's NATO meeting is likely to be the last with the outgoing Biden administration. Trump will take office in a month, but is already influencing NATO cooperation, including through his statements about a quick end to the war in Ukraine. Trump has also demanded that at least three percent of GDP be used for defense investments. Today, the target is two per cent.
