Has anyone spread a rumor among Europe's climate activists that the people smugglers have taken control of the airports because the border guard is understaffed and burned out?
Climate activists stopped air traffic in Frankfurt. Frankfurt Airport, which is the largest in Germany, temporarily urged passengers to stay at home. At 7 a.m., air traffic resumed, but travelers are still advised to check the status of their flight before heading to the airport.
The climate group states that activists entered the airport by cutting up a fence. They have also posted pictures from the action on social media.
The climate action takes place the day after climate activists carried out demonstrations at several airports around Europe, including London, Vienna, Oslo and Cologne. At Cologne airport, air traffic was stopped for several hours on Wednesday. Watch the feature on SVT News.
