Iran: One dead in connection with the protests. A member of Iran's security forces has been killed during the protests that have erupted in the country since last week, according to state media.
The person is said to have been a member of the country's notorious militia force Basij. "A 21-year-old Basij member from the city of Kuhdasht was killed last night by rioters while defending public order," reports state television, citing the information from Lorestan province's deputy governor Said Pourali.
In recent days, Iranians have been protesting against soaring costs and a lowered standard of living. Clashes with security forces have been reported from several parts of the country. See the report on SVT News.
