The 31-year-old debater Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking to a large crowd at Utah Valley University last week. "Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what needed to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent," Trump wrote on Truth Social after the announcement.
In a press release, media company Sinclair, which owns several television stations in the US and broadcasts ABC's content, said it had decided to replace Friday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" with a tribute program about Charlie Kirk. Sinclair also urged Kimmel to apologize to Kirk's family and to donate money to both the family and Kirk's organization "Turning Point USA".
