New violent protests in Belfast. It was the second night in a row that people gathered in the streets to protest a brutal stabbing. On Tuesday, protesters set fire to several houses, cars, and a bus in response to the stabbing. Around 30 people are said to have been forced to leave their homes due to the riots.
The protests were triggered by Monday's arrest of an asylum seeker suspected of attempted murder of another man. The victim lost one eye, suffered injuries to the other, as well as injuries to his neck and back.
The UK's Northern Ireland minister, Hilary Benn, believes there are people trying to incite violence. – We have received reports of people being stopped in their cars and asked about their nationality. Watch the segment on SVT News.
Review: 'Disclosure Day' by Steven Spielberg. It's hard to understand how the director behind 'War of the Worlds' and 'Jurassic Park' put together a sleepy melodrama like 'Disclosure Day'.
The plot suggests that a third world war is on the horizon, while a conspiracy to cover up the truth about aliens is unfolding. The moral of the story is that a revelation is needed to unite humanity.
The beginning is boring, but still manages to create enough of a 'where is this going?' vibe. Then you realize that it's not really 'going' anywhere. The same settings, car chases, and nostalgic nods to Spielberg's sci-fi masterpiece 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' (1977) just loop over and over.
And instead of aliens, you mostly get sentimental speeches and ugly CGI foxes.
Spielberg reuses tricks from his glory days to try to say something profound about human existence in our present moment—but ends up seeming sadly outdated. Watch the segment on SVT News.
