Woman found dead in euthanasia machine in Switzerland. Several people have been arrested in Switzerland after a woman was found dead in a euthanasia machine – which was used for the first time.
On Monday afternoon, police and prosecutors were alerted to an assisted suicide in a privately owned forest in the area around Merishausen, near the border between Switzerland and Germany. There, inside an airtight capsule the size of a coffin with a large window on top, a woman in her 60s was found dead.
On Tuesday, it was announced that the woman – an American citizen who has suffered from an immunodeficiency disease for many years – used a controversial euthanasia machine to end her life. In the 3D-printed machine there is a button that releases nitrogen.
