Looks like the job market is changing.
Microsoft wants to buy out 60,000 employees. The tech giant Microsoft has offered 60,000 employees voluntary severance packages. That’s a little over a quarter of the entire workforce.
Earlier this year, Microsoft made targeted offers to around 8,750 employees of retirement age. Back then, about 30 percent took it. This time, the company expects a smaller share to accept the offer.
Like other AI-focused companies, Microsoft has recently made big investments in data centers. The company’s workforce has shrunk by tens of thousands of employees in recent years, according to news agency Bloomberg. See the article on SVT News.
